Youth soccer video for parents

Press record when the play heads toward goal. Your video will still have the pass that started it.

Keep Sideline Save open and follow the attack. When the chance becomes dangerous, tap Record. The finished clip can still include the pass or run that started the play, and it continues until you tap again.

One attack, three actions

Keep the buildup and the finish together.

Follow the shape of the play

Keep Sideline Save open and frame enough of the field to see the ball, passing options, and space ahead.

Press record as the chance opens

The video starts with the recent action already held by Sideline Save, including the earlier pass or run.

Press stop after the moment

Keep the shot, goal, save, rebound, and reaction, then save the finished video to Photos.

The camera-roll problem

A goal lasts seconds. Recording the whole game lasts much longer.

With the built-in Camera app, you either start early and save long stretches of midfield play or wait and risk losing the pass, run, or turnover that created the chance.

Sideline Save lets you follow the game with the camera ready and decide later. When an attack moves toward goal, press record and the finished video can still include the buildup. Keep recording through the shot, save, rebound, or celebration, then press stop.

Common questions

How soccer recording works.

Does Sideline Save record the whole soccer game?

No. While the app is open, Sideline Save keeps only the previous 5, 10, or 20 seconds ready on your iPhone. A permanent video is created when you tap Record, continue through the play, and tap again to stop.

Can the video include the pass before I pressed record?

Yes, when the pass falls within the 5-, 10-, or 20-second window you selected and Sideline Save was open with the camera ready.

Why does the Soccer preset start at 20 seconds?

Soccer attacks often develop through several passes or a long run. The longer starting window keeps more context, and you can switch to 5 or 10 seconds whenever you prefer smaller videos.

Is Sideline Save free?

Sideline Save is free to download and try with up to 15 successfully saved videos. Sideline Save Pro unlocks unlimited saves through an annual subscription; the current price is shown in the App Store and in the app before purchase.

Where does the finished video go?

Sideline Save saves finished videos locally to your Photos library and organizes them in its Saved Videos view. It does not upload your sports footage to a Sideline Save account.
